It’s a daily football mini-game built right into the app. One drive. Under two minutes. You against a defense doing everything it can to disguise what’s coming.
How it works
Every drive starts at your own 25. Four downs to gain ten yards, a first down resets the count, and the end zone is the only thing that counts as a win.
Before each snap the defense shows a pre-snap look — a two-high shell, a stacked box, a blitz look — plus the coverages it could really be and how likely each one is. That’s your read. It’s a clue, not an answer.
Then you call one of five plays:
- Run — safe yards, almost never turns it over
- Screen — punishes the blitz, dies against a base look
- Short Pass — your chain-mover
- Play-Action — huge against man, a disaster into pressure
- Deep Shot — the boom-or-bust swing
After the snap we reveal the defense you were actually facing. That’s the whole point — every play teaches you the read for the next one.
The stuff that’ll get you
Fourth down is blind. No look, no odds, no help. Convert, or the drive is over.
Sacks hurt but don’t kill. You lose yards and live to snap again. Interceptions and fumbles end it on the spot.
Perfect reads get paid. Certain calls against certain coverages carry a shot at taking it the distance — a house call, straight to six.
Rewards, streaks and bragging rights
Win a drive and you get paid. Each win of the day unlocks the next reward tier, so stringing them together is worth it.
Your record, win rate, current and best streak, house calls and total yards all feed the Play Caller leaderboard — filter it by the last 7 days, 30 days, or all time.
And when a drive ends you get a shareable result: an emoji strip of every play you called and exactly how it went. Post it. Make people guess how you got there.
Where to find it
Play Caller sits on your home screen in the GameBlazers app, on the football side. The widget shows how many drives you have left — tap it and take the field.
Drives reset at midnight ET. Every day, a fresh set.
